The Memory Stone (Week 1: March 26)

In the morning, director Matthew Ozawa held a movement workshop for the four singers. As a composer, it was fascinating to observe how hard a director works to cultivate rapport among the singers/actors and create a unified artistic vision in terms of movement. He also provided an oportunity for our singers to become accustomed to the space and become comfortable with the massive moveable screens that have been built for the production. Additionally, Matthew showed the singers many of the props to be used in the production, accompanied with a personal story for each unique object.
